Thorn: We are on the right tracks

Coventry caretaker manager Andy Thorn saluted his side's display following a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Scunthorpe at the Ricoh Arena.Marlon King broke the deadlock for the Sky Blues with his 12th goal of the season after just five minutes. His early opener was cancelled out in the 38th minute by a deflected effort from impressive on-loan Leeds winger Ramon Nunez.Yet an entertaining encounter at the Ricoh Arena could easily have gone either way as both sides passed up chances to claim all three points - King, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Freddy Eastwood wasting openings for Coventry while Bobby Grant and Michael Collins fluffed great opportunities for the Iron. The scoreline, combined with Crystal Palace's goalless draw at Doncaster, means the scrap to avoid relegation remains unchanged with now just three matches remaining - Scunthorpe sitting three points adrift of the Eagles in the final relegation spot.Coventry earlier announced Thorn was on their shortlist for taking the vacant position on a permanent basis - with the draw making it three wins, three draws and one defeat from his seven games.Thorn said: "We felt this was always going to be a really tough game, they're in good form. Going in front as we did, we started well, but credit to them, they came back into it and we had dig in a bit. But we stuck to our principles and I was really pleased with that. We kept moving the ball, and created good chances. On another day they'd have gone in. We're on the right tracks and doing the right things, as long we carry on doing that we'll be all right."
