Tabb takes the plaudits

Coventry City boss Micky Adams was full of praise for midfielder Jay Tabb after his impressive full debut for the Sky Blues in the 1-0 win over Leeds United.

Former Brentford schemer Tabb lasted 74 minutes of the victory at the Ricoh Arena, with Adams more than happy with his summer recruit.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "I don't want to put too much pressure on Jay because he has come back from a double hernia operation and performed very well.

"But I hope that gives the fans a glimpse of what he is capable of producing and overall I thought he was terrific.

"We watched him a lot at Brentford and there were a lot of clubs after him but, for whatever reason, didn't take a chance on him, but we are delighted with him."
