Coventry City manager Micky Adams is hoping to extend the stay of on loan defender Clive Clarke at the Ricoh Arena.
Clarke was allowed to leave Sunderland on loan after failing to break into the first-team at the Stadium of Light.
But the 26-year-old has been a virtual ever present for the Sky Blues since arriving in October.
"Clive is versatile and is happy to play wherever we want him to and he was outstanding in the previous two away games so a loan extension would be something we will be looking into," Adams told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"He wants to do well, which is important, and he wants to play for Coventry, so all the ingredients are there for him to do well in the time he has got with us.
"We are not going to talk about the longer term issue at the moment and we will just see how things go."
