Sky Blues snare Schmeichel

Coventry City have swooped to sign goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel on loan from Manchester City.

The 21 year-old shot-stopper has joined the relegation-plagued Sky Blues on loan until the end of the season.

Schmeichel, who is the son of Manchester United legend Peter, has already spent two months on loan in the Championship with Cardiff City this season.

"Kasper has shown this season that he has all the attributes to be a top class Premier League goalkeeper and I have no doubt he will be a very valuable addition to the squad," manager Chris Coleman told the club's official website.

"He has great ability and strength, plus he has age on his side.

"The future is certainly bright for him."
