The Football Association has rejected Coventry City captain Michael Doyle's appeal against his red card in Saturday's FA Cup fifth round drubbing by West Brom.
Doyle was dismissed by referee Mark Halsey for a foul on Zoltan Gera, but Sky Blues' then caretaker boss Frankie Bunn and Albion manager Tony Mowbray both believed it was a harsh decision.
Doyle will now miss the three Championship matches against Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City and Burnley.
Bunn had said after the 5-0 defeat: "The sending off killed us, but we still made some basic errors and, when you're chasing the game against a side as good as West Brom, they'll punish you."
