Sky Blues list Adebola

Coventry City boss Eric Black has told striker Dele Adebola that he is free to leave Highfield Road as soon as he can find a new club.

The 28-year-old has failed to find his best form since joining the Sky Blues in the summer, scoring just three times in 28 games, and has been unable to win over the supporters.

Black told the club's official website: "I've spoken to Dele and he will be allowed to leave the club if he gets an opportunity.

"I think he is a great lad and as honest a footballer as I've ever come across. He's definitely got attributes, but I feel Dele has reached a bit of a crossroads and needs something to change.

"He's obviously not become a fans' favourite which may have culminated in a lack of confidence.

"We've tried to rebuild it and I think he has shown bits of form, but it has now come to a stage where he needs to break it and go to play somewhere else.

"It could be a loan or a permanent deal so we'll just see what happens but there has certainly been interest shown already."

Prior to joining the Sky Blues, Adebola had spells with Crewe Alexandra, Birmingham City and Crystal Palace, scoring 75 times in 317 career league games.
