    Sky Blues land McPake

    31 Jan 2009 - 12:06:04

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is pleased with his dealings in the January transfer window after agreeing a deal to bring Livingston defender James McPake to the Ricoh Arena.

The 24-year-old will move to the Sky Blues for an undisclosed transfer fee after agreeing a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

Coleman, who snapped up Norwich City midfielder David Bell earlier in the week, said of McPake's capture: "We knew that he was keen to move nearer his home in Northampton, so we pursued it and got our chance.

"He is good with both feet, gifted technically and I think he will go down very well with our supporters.

"We watched James in the summer and then he played against us on our tour in Scotland. He will be a good addition to the team - he is a tough boy who is very competitive but he is also very calm on the ball.

"I hate to lose, especially at home in front of our fans but it showed me what can be done. Cardiff have built a side over the last four years in the way we are trying to go about it in the same way."
