Sky Blues aim to cut numbers

Coventry City will look to reduce the size of their squad before adding any fresh faces, according to chairman Ray Ranson.

Ranson has revealed he has held talks with manager Chris Coleman and the pair are in agreement over the best way forward.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "We speak on a daily basis discussing scenarios to improve the squad.

"We are constantly reviewing the situation and there's a few names (he has) mentioned so we will have to see.

"We'd like to reduce the size of the squad.

"The manager has said on numerous occasions that he wants to trim it down to the low 20s, but with a lot more quality - so from that point of view we'd like to move a few on."
