Robins faces selection dilemma

Not knowing Bournemouth's manager making Robins team selection a challenge

Coventry City’s manager Mark Robins faces a selection headache when Bournemouth visit The Ricoh on Saturday.

The problem Robins has is he has no idea who will select the Cherries team as they parted company with their manager Paul Groves and his assistant Shaun Brooks. The likely candidate to be in charge is their head coach Dennis Rofe. It is unlikely, but not impossible to be former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp who is an unpaid adviser at Bournemouth at the moment.

Robins admitted, “It makes it slightly more difficult because we don’t know who will be taking the team, but we know who they have had on the pitch in recent weeks.

“It’s always sad to see a manager lose his job but we can’t really get too caught up in what’s happening there because it’s about what we do.

“We started off really brightly the other night and if we had taken the chances that we had early doors then it would have been a totally different game.

“As it turned out it became a game of chasing the ball because they are a particularly good side with the ball, but we have spoken about that and I think we have got players who can do that, too.

“It’s just got to be a sustained effort and that belief will start to come back. I know people want instant results but we’ve picked up four points from two games and Saturday provides another opportunity to put more points on the board against one of the teams just above us.”
