City Boss on his substitutions
Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he is learning from his decisions and mistakes.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about his use of substitutes, Pressley said: "I'll be honest with you. I am someone who always analyses my own performance before the team and there are a couple of things I could have done better.
"Ultimately, all managers, on reflection, can change things at different times and hindsight is a great thing.
"But I felt at that time (against Port Vale), we could still score, especially with the players we had on the pitch.
"One of the other things that - and sometimes supporters don't always realise this so it's important to mention - is we're not the biggest of teams. And when you are playing against a team which carries that aerial threat, we have markers in our team and if we take them off, we can have quite an effect on set plays. That effect has a bearing on any substitutions I make.
"There are a number of tactical decisions that on reflection, I should have made but that's what's great about football and a manager - you learn from your decisions and mistakes all the time."
