Platt back and fit to face Burnley

Westwood over flu and will play Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd is pleased to have Platt and Westwood fit again and ready for Saturday's home game against Burnley. Platt has recovered from a minor strain while Westwood, who pulled out of the Ireland squad with a bout of 'flu, has also recovered and will be fit to play. Boothroyd has also been boosted by the returning fitness of other key players such as Eastwood, O'Donovan and Bell. Since Platt was injured Coventry City have gone on a three match losing streak, but whether that means Platt has been missed remains to be seen. Boothroyd said, "I think, for us, after the last three games this could be a key week in terms of how we progress and go forward.” “You are going to get a slap in the face now and again and we’ve had three in a week so if we can go on another run now that will be good."  "If you are a good team you are going to get problems along the way and a little bit of adversity isn’t going to do anyone any harm. In fact it’s a good thing because if it was easy then we would all be doing it, but I honestly think we are not that far away." “When you analyse all the games and the performances, apart from one or two, we have done enough but it is just about getting consistency now, and that comes with time. Clive is definitely fit and having him back is a big boost to us,” he added. “Whether he starts or is on the bench, he is a big player for us and a real threat who has been one of the surprise packages for people in the division, although certainly not for me because I always knew what he is capable of." “Results would probably suggest we have missed him but I think that Lukas Jutkiewicz and Marlon King have worked really hard and on another day we would have been 4-0 up at Palace, but Marlon is getting his sharpness back, Lukas is finding his feet in the league and I think he is going to get better and better. “We have a lovely balance of how we attack with the players we have got, along with Freddy Eastwood and Roy O’Donovan of course, but while results would suggest we have missed him but I think performances say we haven’t.” // '); // ]]> Commenting on the fitness of other players, Boothroyd said,  “Keiren was in yesterday and the doctor gave him the all clear, so we will take it nice and steady and wrap him up in cotton wool and he’ll be fit for the match." “Aron Gunnarsson has been away with Iceland and he was due back this morning when I will have a look at him to see if he’s fresh or whether the travelling or game has affected him and David Bell has got another week of training under his belt and he will come back into the squad. After the start to the season he has certainly shown me what he is capable of, but like all players it is a question of getting that consistency now. “We can all be good once in a while but it is about being good over a season. I like him as a character and it is now a matter of him putting a run of games together and getting himself back into the team.”
