Pedestrian First Half Decent Second Half - Robins

City boss on win over Bournemouth

Coventry City manager Mark Robins felt that the first half of City 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth, which was their first league victory at the Ricoh Arena since March, was a bit pedestrian but he was happier with the second half.

Speaking to club journalist Keiran Crowley, Robins said: "We have ground out the result and to keep a clean sheet again is always pleasing. When Joe Murphy was called upon, he dealt with everything which came his way even though he didn't have a massive amount to do.

"We dropped ourselves in the mire at times but I was pleased with the way we kept trying to pass the ball and move into space. We have to try and continue to do that as that will have a huge effect on our season.   "I saw at half-time it needed a change so I brought Callum Ball on and he did exceptionally well with his great pass for David McGoldrick which set up the goal.   "He has had a great effect on today's game. He has sprayed balls all over the place and got their defence facing towards their own goal.    "Overall, it has been a decent second half for us. The first half was a bit pedestrian and we needed to up the tempo, and we got that in the second half."   More on this: http://www.ccfc.co.uk//news/article/robins-post-bournemouth-h-411841.aspx?pageView=full
