Oldham Are Difficult To Play Against - Robins
City boss on visit of Oldham to the Ricoh Arena
Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that his side are prepared to grind out a victory against Oldham Athletic at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow.
With City moving in to the top ten following Wednesday night's win over Tranmere Rovers, this is another crucial game for the Sky Blues if they are to make a serious challenge for the Play-Off places.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, the City boss said: "We might have to grind it out again. “They were difficult to play against up there and they will try to give us the same kind of problems at our place.
“Paul has got some good players and on their day they can win games, so we’ve got to make sure we are on it from the start.
“We’ve dropped six points from our last two games and I don’t want to be looking back at the end of the season wondering ‘what if...’
“It’s great to beat the league leaders because that’s a measure of how far you’ve come and what you could achieve. But the Oldham game is just as important because it could make a big difference to our season and if necessary we will have to fight and scrap for everything we can get from any game.
“It will be difficult because the other team will get the ball and be direct at times and we’ve got to be able to cope with that.
“That’s what we’ve faced in the last few games and we seem to be getting more accustomed to it.
“But I still want us to be able to deal with the ball quicker when it is up in the air and show a little less panic – there are times when we put it out of play when it could easily go back to the goalkeeper and that gives the opposition an attacking impetus.
“We came back well from Sunday’s defeat at Carlisle; I wanted us to be at the races from the start and thankfully we were.
“But we can’t rest on that; we need to recover well and come back nice and refreshed to face Oldham.”
