New deals for Sky Blues duo
23 May 2007 - 16:29:00
Coventry City have secured the futures of two of their highly-rated young prospects after agreeing new contracts with Kevin Thornton and Ben Turner.
Midfielder Thornton has signed a two-year extension to his existing deal which ties him to the Ricoh Arena until summer 2010.
The 20-year-old impressed Sky Blues boss Iain Dowie after making a successful return from a long-term injury in the final few games of the season.
Meanwhile, England under-19 international defender Turner has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.
Elsewhere, the Sky Blues have reportedly entered the race, alongside Midlands rivals Stoke and Leicester, to sign Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.
