Morrell's not for sale - McGinnity

Thursday Sep 29 2005 14:24

Coventry City chairman Mike McGinnity has warned interested clubs that striker Andy Morrell is not for sale.

The 29-year-old moved to Highfield Road in the summer after scoring 35 times for Wrexham last season, and his five goals in the current campaign have prompted speculation that Wolves are planning to make a bid for him in January.

But McGinnity told the Coventry Evening Telegraph: "A club would have no chance if they came in with an offer of £2million for Andy Morrell.

"If you are talking about silly money of £10million plus then we would have to consider it. But for £1million to £3million, forget it.

"But no-one has been in touch regarding Andy. Within our business plan we do not have to sell players. We can go from strength to strength and at this moment in time I am not asking Gary McAllister to cut back on the playing side."
