Malta international striker Michael Mifsud has handed in a transfer request at Coventry City.
The 27-year-old has scored 21 goals in 66 appearances for the Sky Blues during his 18 months with the club, but feels that the time is now right to try his luck elsewhere.
City boss Chris Coleman told the Evening Telegraph: "I've spoken with Michael this week and he's agreed with his agent that it's time to move on.
"He's said he'll hand in a transfer request and there's nothing we can do about that.
"We have to move on ourselves and, if a club comes in and offers the right money, then we'll have to look at it.
"We risk having an unhappy player on our hands and then losing him for nothing. If he feels his career is going to progress elsewhere, there's nothing we can do about that."
