Coventry City boss Chris Coleman is set to send defender James McPake out on loan to boost his fitness.
The 25-year-old has yet to feature for City this term, having suffered a shoulder injury during pre-season.
However, after McPake came through a reserve team outing unscathed, Coleman told the Evening Telegraph: "It was his first game back, so it's too early for James to be involved and we don't want to make the same mistake as we have before.
"There are one or two clubs interested in him and I'll let him go out on loan to get some games."
Meanwhile, the Sky Blues are being linked with a move to sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Wood, who recently turned down the offer of a new contract at Hillsborough.
