Coventry City boss Micky Adams believes Leon McKenzie could be the man to fire his side into contention for promotion.
A lack of goals has hindered the Sky Blues so far this season, prompting Adams to spend £1million to bring McKenzie from Norwich City.
"We are delighted to have signed Leon and got the deal sealed," he told Coventry's official website.
"He is obviously a striker who has scored goals at Premiership level and without putting too much pressure on him we hope he will score goals for us.
"He's very enthusiastic, has got great pace and he will be a great addition to the squad as we build for the season ahead."
McKenzie, who scored 20 league goals in 79 games for the Canaries, is relieved to have left Carrow Road after slipping behind Darren Huckerby and Robert Earnshaw in Nigel Worthington's first-team plans.
The 28-year-old said: "The move hasn't been quick, it's taken a bit of time to go through all of the procedures, but you have got to do that.
"It's been a bit up and down but I'm here now and I'm just glad I've been able to finalise everything.
"As soon as I found out about the interest from Coventry I wanted to pursue that and it's all worked out."
Meanwhile, Coventry have allowed Faroe Islands midfielder Claus Jorgensen to join Blackpool on a free transfer.
