Mark Robins to decide on Coventry duo Jamie Reckford and Connor Henderson
Coventry City manager Mark Robins will decide in the next couple of weeks if he wants to extend the loans of defender Jamie Reckord and midfielder Connor Henderson.
The duo are both due back at Wolves and Arsenal respectively on December 22nd after the Sky Blues home game with Preston North End and the City boss will have to decide if he wants the pair to continue at the Ricoh Arena.
Reckord, who is currently ill, dropped out of the team after his form dipped in the opinion of the manager following a ten game run after joining on loan but Robins praised him for working two sessions a day to try and get back into the team.
Connor Henderson has been hampered by injury since joining City and has only been restricted to one first team start, one substitution and ninety minutes for City U21’s at Leicester City.
Speaking about Henderson to the Coventry Telegraph’s Andy Turner, Mark Robins said: “Conor is going to be fairly easy because he’s either not been fit or able to get up to speed,” he said of the attacking midfielder who has started just one game and made one substitute appearance.
"Having said that he came in when I first arrived and it was difficult to get him involved because of what we needed to do as a group, so in all fairness to him he probably would have been involved around now because of the way we are playing. It would have been ideal for us but he kicked the ground and hurt his ankle ligaments.
“It’s just one of those things that he got injured at a time when he would probably have been involved. He’s still out and will probably need another couple of weeks.
"We’re trying to get him fit as quickly as we can but he’s getting a bit of swelling in his joint and we have to wait for that to calm down, but we have only got 22 days in December.”
