Leeds keen on Best loan

Newcastle agree to allow Best to leave on loan Former Coventry City striker Leon Best, who left City for Newcastle during last January's transfer window, will be allowed to leave St. James' Park on loan. Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is keen on obtaining the services of Best despite the striker struggling to even get a game at Newcastle, let alone to score a goal. Best has only scored once, in a pre season friendly, for Newcastle and slipped further down the order during the summer and is now the fifth choice striker. Best suffered a serious ankle injury earlier in the season, but is now back in training. Magpie's boss Chris Hughton has said he want the striker to get some match practise and so has indicated he will allow best to have a loan move. Hughton told the Sunday Sun, “Leon is back in training with us now. Yes, we would consider a loan for Leon if it was right. First and foremost he’s got to get fit." "Once he’s back fit he needs games and if he wasn’t getting the amount of games at Newcastle we have to look at it.”
