All teams round City lose
It is getting close at the bottom of League One with the bottom five teams separated by 3 points. If Coventry City beat Gillingham tomorrow, City would climb out of the bottom four as Bristol City lost 3-0 at home to Peterborough and Sheffield United lost 1-0 at Carlisle, both sides remain on 4 points. Gillingham are on 3 points. Notts County lost 3-2 away to MK Dons and stay bottom. Posh move into second place in the table but Leighton Orient maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-2 win over Micky Adams’s Port Vale.
Wolves won 3-2 at home to Swindon and are third in the table on 16 points. Walsall ran out 3-0 winners at Crewe. Bradford and Colchester shared the points with a 2-2 draw, Crawley and Shrewsbury drew 1-1. There were wins for Preston who beat Stevenage 3-0 and Rotherham who beat Oldham 3-2. Former Coventry players Danny Philliskirk, who was substituted at half time and Johnson Clark-Harris, who came on in the second half, both played for Oldham.
Finally Tranmere went down 3-4 at home to Brentford. With the game 2-3 in favour of the visitors, Cole Stockton equalised in the 90th minute to make it 3-3, but minutes into added time Brentford when Adam Dugdale handled in the area. Adam Forshaw kept his cool to score to make it 4-3.
Should Coventry beat Gilligham on Sunday at Sixfields, they would be just one point behind Stevenage, Crewe, Tranmere and Port Vale, who are all on 5 points.
