King earns praise from Boothroyd

Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd believes forward Marlon King should be credited with the second goal in their 2-0 win at Glanford Park, which moved the Sky Blues into the npower Championship play-off positions.Gary McSheffrey opened the scoring after 31 minutes when he turned the ball home after King's effort was blocked, and the controversial striker was denied credit for the second goal when his shot came back off the woodwork and went in off the Scunthorpe goalkeeper Joe Murphy."For me that was Marlon's goal. He has worked so hard since joining us," said Boothroyd."He deserves to be credited with a goal. It takes a great deal of character to come back from a place where Marlon has been. He knows that and is working so hard for this club."Coventry were not greatly tested by the Iron, who now have the worst home record in the Championship, but Boothroyd backed them to avoid relegation."Scunthorpe is a difficult place to come and they're in a false position at the moment, down near the foot of the table," he added. "I know their manager Ian Baraclough well and I'm sure he will soon get them climbing back up the table. Conditions were getting difficult as the pitch became more frosty, but we adapted better."
