It's Been A Baptism Of Fire - Thorn
Published : 08 Apr 2011 16:05:32
Thorn on managing the Sky Blues Andy Thorn has said his start as Caretaker Manager of Coventry City has been a baptism of fire. Speaking to the PFA's Givemefootball website, Thorn, speaking about the recent board changes and upheavels admiited: "There are a lot of things that you cannot control so I just work on the areas that I can do something about. "But it has been a baptism of fire with the takeover and all the money issues but I leave that to others. It’s taken me a week to go through what most managers do in five years. "My brief from the Chairman is to keep Coventry in the Championship for next season. We are in a relegation battle and play Derby next. We are separated by one place. We are going to a stadium with 28,000 people. We have got a big following so it is a good game to play in. If we can build on the last result and put a run together than we will be okay." When asked about the media speculation about players being touted for sale in order to ease the club's financial problems, Thorn said: "I don’t know about that. At the moment my aim is to keep Coventry in this division. Come the end of the season we will wait and see what happens."
