Injury boost for Adams

Coventry City are hopeful that injury victims Adam Virgo and David McNamee will not be sidelined for as long as was first feared.

The duo both picked up knocks in the 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City, with Virgo's injury having been confirmed as a partial rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Sky Blues boss Micky Adams had earlier told the Evening Telegraph: "It's a massive, massive blow for the boy, more than anything.

"It's also a blow for us, because he's a talented player who can operate in a variety of positions, which is why we brought him to the club."

McNamee has a slight hamstring tear and, along with Virgo, will see a specialist later this week.
