I Want A Few Goals Before I Return To Derby - Ball

Ball Looking For Games And Gols

Callum Ball has said that he wants to end his season long loan at Coventry City with a few goals before he returns to Derby.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Ball said:  “I felt like I did well when I went on and hopefully now I will get a few more chances under him to show him what I can do.

“We went three up front for the last ten against Pompey and he just told me that it was a chance to prove myself to the fans and players. It wasn’t the best of games to go into because we were pushing for the goal and they were trying to hit on the counter attack, but I felt I did well for the team.

“I just want to make a good few last appearances for Coventry and get some goals for the club before I go back to Derby.”

That is where his foot problem started a year ago, the player revealing: “I did it in January/February time last season but carried on playing and training.

“It didn’t go away so I had a scan in November and it revealed two chipped bones and initially they were looking at an operation, but in the end I had an injection and it healed itself.

“I was off training for about 12 or 13 weeks. I was doing stuff on the bike but it’s different to proper training and your fitness levels are different.

“I have always been a big lad so it’s harder for me to maintain my fitness. “I have to work hard, watch what I eat and make sure I eat clean really because I put weight on very easily.

“I got back in training at the back end of January/early February but as I was coming back I had a sore back so that cost me another two weeks. It seemed that every time I was coming back I was getting little niggles, but I’ve finally got myself fit and have played three Under-21 games."
