Coventry City captain Stephen Hughes has admitted the players have held a meeting to try and iron out their finishing troubles this season.

The inquest was held after their first reverse at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday when Hull City ran out 2-0 winners.

The 29-year-old midfielder told the Coventry Evening Telegraph: "We had a meeting among the players and a number of things were said.

"We spoke about a number of things, not least the fact that we need to be more clinical in front of goal.

"We got the ball wide and put some quality balls into the box but we just weren't good enough."
