Highfield Road Fifty Times Better Than The Ricoh

Huckerby's view on playing at Highfield Road
Former Coventry City forward Darren Huckerby has said in his book that Highfield Road was fifty times better than the Ricoh Arena for atmosphere.
Writing in his new book "Hucks - Through Adversity To Great Heights", Huckerby says: "I can tell you now that the atmosphere on a good night at Highfield Road was fifty times as good as it ever gets at the Ricoh Arena.
"For me, moving has been one of the biggest downfalls of the club. The Ricoh is never full enough.
"At Highfield Road, you might have only got 23,000- 24,000 but when it was full, it was rocking. Week in, Week out, it was tight to the pitch, a great place to play.
"Plus the playing surface wasn't always great and the big boys weren't very keen on that."
The book is available from tomorrow.
