Hawley - Staying In Cov Is Most Important Thing At The Moment

City Supporter Graeme Hawley at Trust AGM

Actor and Coventry City supporter Graeme Hawley was the guest speaker following the Sky Blue Trust's AGM.

A decent turn out heard Hawley say "I want SISU gone and do not want them running my club, however staying in Coventry is the most important thing at the moment."

Hawley, who hails from Hinckley, admitted that there was more chance of him coming out of the closet than supporting Leicester City and that he was a Swansea fan until the age of eleven due to having all their stickers in his album.

Speaking about how he grew up as a Coventry City supporter, he said: "Around the age of 11-12 I saw sense and at 11 years old I thought winning the cup was something that probably happens a lot and walking into Highfield Road for the first time was amazing."

On the current players, he said that Cyrus Christie and Blair Adams look like fantastic players and that his favourite City players were Gary McAllister, Noel Whelan, Dion Dublin (pre Villa!), Stuart Robson and Robbie Keane but his ultimate favourite was Kevin Gallagher.

Games that stick in his mind were the Forest 5-4 & and Manchester United 3-2. Tears in my eyes when Darren Huckerby scored THAT goal and the League Cup 2-0 win at Old Trafford. Especially working with the Coronation Street cast and crew the next day.

Moving on to the issues that concern us all today, Hawley said that Keep City In Coventry is a great campaign and The Sky Blue Trust are doing great work, adding: "SISU will be gone 1 day. Don't worry everyone!"

On the Ricoh Arena, he felt that: "The Ricoh is a brilliant facility. So much potential there. When ever I bring anyone to the Ricoh they just go wow! CCFC owning the Ricoh yes. SISU owning the Ricoh NO!"

One question sent in via twitter was  "if they ever film, The SISU Story, would he play Tim Fisher, in his fine tradition of playing unhinged characters?" and Graeme replied "Orange Ken because I want to film in Portugal."
