Gunnarsson: I'll come good for City

The Iceland international became a firm favourite at the Ricoh Arena last season, winning the club's player of the year award with a number of inspiring displays. Gunnarsson has been operating in a slightly more attacking role this season and that, coupled with off-field distractions, have not helped his performances. But the talented 20-year-old hopes to keep his place in Chris Coleman's side and has vowed to turn things around. He told the Coventry Telegraph: "I'm finding it hard this year. I'm playing in a different position, a bit more forward, and I thought I could do well there but obviously I can't because I'm not performing. "I know that, the fans know that, everybody knows that - I was disgraceful against Swansea and although I thought I was slightly better against Blackpool, it still wasn't really there. Perhaps it would be better if I could go back to my old position but I'm not going to start making demands." He added: "My head's not been in the right place because of private stuff, stuff I don't want to talk about. But my agent came over from Holland for a chat and told me I had to forget about everything else and just enjoy my game. I'm doing that in training now, having a laugh and I'm getting my head back. Give me time and I'll be back on it, don't worry about that."
