Government Calls For Complete Transparency
SISU may have to admit investors indentity
The Government findings in to the Football Governance Inquiry has called for robust criteria to be applied to those wishing to buy and running football clubs.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport, have called for a licensing model which should be both backwards and forwards looking, and that the Football Association should take the primary responsibility for establishing such a system.
Minister Damian Collins had expressed concerns as to exactly who were the investors behind Coventry City's owners SISU and these have been included as the findings have also called for complete transparency around ownership and the terms of loans provided by Directors and urged the Football authorities to make this a key condition of owning or running a football club.
It also calls any new owners of clubs to have supporters representatives on their board. This would mean if there was a change in Coventry City's ownership, someone from the Supporters Consultation Group being appointed to the board.
