Coventry City defender Richard Wood was delighted to silence those booing him and Leon Clarke for playing for Sheffield Wednesday with the 2-1 victory at Sheffield United.

Wood told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “Being a former Wednesday lad it’s always nice for me to win at Bramall Lane. I was getting a few boos, as was Clarkey who also played at Hillsbrough, so it was nice to come back and win to silence them; it’s a good feeling.

“We were outstanding at times – it was one of the best first halves I have seen us play and it was just great to just watch from the back as the lads played some good football.."
