Fitness boost for Boothroyd

Turner and Jutkiewicz should be fit to face Leicester. Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has been boosted by the news that at least two of his injured players should be fit to play against Leicester on September 11th. Ben Turner and Lukas Jutkiewicz should have recovered from their respective hamstring and knee injuries to take their places in the squad for the early kick off at The Ricoh. However a starting place for Turner is not guaranteed as Richard Wood and James McPake are fighting hard to get back into the team. Wood started at Millwall in place of the injured Turner and is reluctant to relinquish his starting place, but Boothroyd will not mind having this sort of selection headache. Aidy Boothroyd said, “Ben will be fit for the Leicester game. It was too soon to risk playing him against Millwall when I thought Richard Wood was man of the match in my eyes, so it shows we have got really good competition down the spine of the team.” He then revealed that James McPake has had a persistent shin problem which is slow to heal, but ought to get better with rest. He concluded by saying, “Lukas has had an injection in his knee, which has been a long standing problem, but it is clearing up and he should be fit to join in with the other players on Tuesday to prepare for the Leicester game.”
