Fisher's Comments Add To The Anger Over Doncaster Switch
Fisher's Comments On Doncaster Switch
Comments made by current Coventry City CEO Tim Fisher have only added to the fury of supporters who have been affected by the very late switching of the home game with Doncaster Rovers on Good Friday.
There have been a number of calls for the dismissal of those responsible who waited for over nine months to move the game from March 30th to March 29th, citing that the players needed an extra day's rest between games as well as the Football League officials involved who allowed such a late switch.
A number of supporters both in this country and those due to attend the Sky Blues International Day have been affected by the switching of the match and the Coventry City London Supporters Club have stepped in to compensate their members affected.
In a statement to the Coventry Telegraph, Tim Fisher said: “We are aware of and hugely appreciate the effort put in by the London Supporters' Club to keep our international fans in touch with the football club from afar, something which was to be celebrated at the Doncaster game.
“However, we were to be the only game on Easter Saturday, giving us 24 hours less rest than all the other teams at a very busy and important time of the season, something I am sure people understand was not a good situation.
“The game has also been designated a Kids For A Quid fixture and we hope to attract a good crowd for what is clearly an important fixture.”
