Dowie toasts a double
06 Jul 2007 - 10:27:49
Coventry City have completed the signings of Southampton striker Leon Best and Crystal Palace left-back Gary Borrowdale.
Twenty-year-old Best has signed a three-year contract with the Sky Blues, with a fee for his move set to be decided by a Football League tribunal.
Best had made just 19 appearances for Saints, but impressed last season while on loan at Yeovil Town, scoring ten goals in 15 games.
Borrowdale, 21, has also agreed a three-year deal at the Ricoh Arena, having opted to exit the Eagles after five years with the club.
The full-back had made well over 100 appearances for Palace, without getting on the scoresheet.
City boss, who worked with Borrowdale at Selhurst Park, told the club's official website: "Gary has performed consistently well for Crystal Palace at this level.
"I think it's easy to forget just how young he is with the amount of games he has played."
