Coventry City boss Iain Dowie hopes he will be given money to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window by the club's new owners.
Ray Ranson's SISU Capital group completed their takeover of the Sky Blues last Friday just before the club were about to move into administration.
Dowie said of the takeover on Sky Sports News: "Better late than never. It isn't about Iain Dowie or anyone else, it's about Coventry City still being here as a going entity. So Ray deserves a lot of credit for that.
"I think it's important there's investment in the club. If we're to bring in some players they've got to be better than the characters we've got in the team and that will take some doing as we've got some good characters around the place.
"It will be done thoughtfully and the first people to know will be the players who are going to be targeted.
"We're not going to sing from the rooftops about how much money we've got to spend, as I don't think that's the way to do business."
