Coventry City boss Iain Dowie has played down rumours linking striker Kevin Kyle with a January move to Championship rivals Wolves.
Dowie says that he had a chat with his Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy a while ago, but insists that no deal is in the offing.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "I had a discussion with Mick two weeks ago about Kevin, but there was nothing that interested me at the time, but that is between me and Mick and will remain private.
"It wasn't a situation I was prepared to do, but don't forget if we let one out we can't get anyone in because the transfer embargo is still in place."
Kyle joined the Sky Blues in the summer of 2006 and has scored five goals in 43 appearances for City to date.
