Defeat Won't Affect Our Confidence - McSheffrey

McSheffrey on loss to Ipswich and chance to put it right. Coventry City’s Gary McSheffrey has said that the players will not let the defeat at Ipswich affect their confidence.  Speaking to Sky Blue Player, McSheffrey, who was a 43rd minute substitute in the 3-0 loss, said: "Portman Road is a difficult place to come and you have to look at Ipswich and think they will be difficult to beat at home but for us it's important that we don't let this result affect our confidence and we go into the weekend looking to take points off Reading and Blackpool. "As good as Ipswich were in the first half we still had a couple of chances late on and then in the second half we counted three or four chances that at this level should have been goals but we know that and we'll try and rectify that because our second half was better and had we got a goal it might have been different "We've got a good young squad and it's important we don't let it affect confidence because we huffed and puffed and had a couple of good chances we didn't take but it's a case of if's and but's. "The beauty about this league is that the games come thick and fast and you quickly get a chance to put things right and we can't wait for that. "We weren't at our best against Ipswich but strange things happen and we could go on and beat Reading and Blackpool and then this result is forgotten about. The funny thing is we could lose like we have done and then go on and win our next game which would give us more points than if we'd drawn two games on the trot, gone undefeated and picked up two points so it's swings and roundabouts and we're looking forward to moving forward on Saturday."   Picture copyright of Covsupport News Service.
