Danny Wants A Deal
Philliskirk Looking For New City Deal
Danny Philliskirk is hoping that his performances for Coventry City U21's and his first team debut versus Leyton Orient on Saturday have been enough to win him a contract.
Philliskirk, who first came to City's notice after a storming game for Sheffield United U21's against City at the Alan Higgs Centre back in August, has put in some excellent appearances for the U21's since joining on a short term contract after his Blades contract expired on New Year's Day.
Those performances which included a goal against Leicester, saw the son of former Bolton and Sheffield United star Tony Philliskirk, brought into the first team squad and making his debut on Saturday in a position he was not accustomed to playing.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Philliskirk said: “I have worked hard in the Under-21s with Lee Carsley and the lads and it’s nice to get a chance.
“We have got meetings with the manager on the 28th so we’ll find out then but I am just working hard on the football pitch to earn a new contract and hopefully I have done enough.
"But if not then I know I have done my best. I can’t do much more. I try to give my best every day in training and when I play I give 100 per cent.”
