Dangerous time to play Preston says Boothroyd
"They are due a win" Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd has warned his players not to be complacent on Saturday when Preston North End visit The Ricoh. One of last years play off contenders, Preston have been struggling this term both on and off the pitch. Financial problems have made strengthening the Preston squad difficult for their manager Darren Ferguson and some players have left to ease the wage burden on the club. Preston's record this season is poor. They have won just one game so far and lost the other six and are second from bottom of the npower Championship league table. They have lost all three away games scoring three goal while conceding 9 on the road. However, Boothroyd has warned his players not to be complacent. He said, “It is a dangerous time to be playing them because statistically they are due a win." "I was up at Wigan and had a good look at them the other night and I am sure they are waiting for their fortunes to turn in time, but I am really excited about the game and really looking forward to it.” Boothroyd will welcome back David Bell, Danny Ward and Michael McIndoe and Gary McSheffrey, who have all recovered from injuries and could all feature at some stage against Preston. With the addition of the new number 9, Marlon King, Boothroyd should be able to field a strong squad against Preston.
