Loan woe for Sky Blues
Coventry will again be without 12-goal striker David McGoldrick and fellow loanee James Bailey for their FA Cup second-round tie at home to Morecambe.
McGoldrick and midfielder Bailey, on loan from Nottingham Forest and Derby respectively, were both denied permission by their parent clubs to feature in the first-round triumph over non-league Arlesey.
However, fellow loanees Blair Adams, Callum Ball, Jamie Reckord, Conor Henderson and Reece Brown have all been given the go-ahead.
Back-up goalkeeper Chris Dunn could well get the nod ahead of Joe Murphy, who may not be risked due to a niggling shoulder injury.
Midfielder John Fleck and striker Stephen Elliott, fit again after a toe injury, both staked their claims for involvement with appearances for City's Under-21 side in midweek.
The likes of Cody McDonald, Adam Barton, Roy O'Donovan, Jordan Clarke and Nathan Cameron will also be pushing for starting places.
Morecambe manager Jim Bentley will be without on-loan pair Jordan Mustoe and Richard Brodie for the trip.
Wigan full-back Mustoe and Crawley striker Brodie have both been made unavailable for cup action by their parent clubs.
Robbie Threlfall could be in contention to return in Mustoe's absence having featured for the reserves in midweek as he steps up his recovery from a thigh injury.
Fellow defender Will Haining could also come back into contention having shaken off a knock.
Kevin Ellison hit a hat-trick as the Shrimps overcame AFC Wimbledon 3-1 last weekend, and he and defender Nick Fenton will be reunited with Coventry boss and their former Rotherham manager Mark Robins at the Ricoh Arena.
