Coventry To Remember Against Leeds

A time to remember Coventry City are planning to use the next home game against Leeds United to remember those who died or were wounded or suffered in the Coventry Blitz, the bombing raids on Leeds and those who have served in both world wars and conflicts since including the current campaign in Afghanistan.Talks involving numerous supporters including Covsupport News Service's Kev Monks and club officials have been on-going for a year and it is likely that there will be at least a minute's silence before the match at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday November 6th to mark Armistice Day, the 70th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz plus the WW2 bombing raids on Leeds and all those who have served or are serving Great Britain in active service.Crystal Palace, whom City travel to on November 13th, have been contacted regarding a minute's silence to mark the 70th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz on Sunday November 14th and on the day before Coventry City U18's, Coventry Sphinx and matches in the Coventry Charity Cup will commemorate the anniversary with a minute's silence with plans underway for a minute's silence at all Coventry Alliance matches. It is hoped that all sporting events scheduled to take place on the weekend of November 13th/14th in Coventry will have a minute's silence before they start.
