Coleman worried by Best

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has revealed his frustration at being unable to secure the future of star striker Leon Best.

The six-goal joint top-scorer is on his way back to the club after enjoying 45 minutes of international football for the Republic of Ireland, where his club form has earned him further opportunities.

Yet his improvements have brought interest from other clubs and, with the 23-year-old out of contract in the summer, it will be harder for City to keep him in the Midlands.

"The chairman has talked with Leon's agent and, as always, they want one thing and we want to give another," explained Coleman to the Evening Telegraph.

"We think we can offer him a good contract, but ultimately it will be up to Leon to see what he wants to do."
