Coleman backs City strikers

Coventry City boss Chris Coleman has backed his newly-assembled strikeforce to come good in the near future.

Summer recruits Freddy Eastwood and Clinton Morrison have managed just one goal between them so far this season, while Leon Best has yet to find the net.

Coleman told the Evening Telegraph: "Freddy has shown flashes of what he is capable of, but my only criticism is that he is maybe trying too hard to score a goal.

"He has probably got more finesse than anyone else in the team when he is on the ball, but he is so desperate to score that he is trying to smash it.

"Clinton is getting frustrated because he is getting chances and not hitting the back of the net, but he has got to keep getting in there because that's the only way they will start going in.

"Yes, we would like them to have scored more goals, but they will come."
