Clarke - You Can Only Thrive Playing In Front Of 29,000 Cov Fans

Coventry City forward Leon Clarke has feels that the City players can only thrive in front of 29,000 City fans.

If everyone who has bought a ticket turns up, amid rumours that as many as five thousand have one only bought a ticket to guarantee themselves a ticket for the JPT Final at Wembley, then it will be the biggest City home following since the League Cup Semi-Final against West Ham United in 1981.

Speaking about playing in front of a gate which will be over 30,000 based as City announce their attendance figures on the number of tickets sold, Leon Clarke told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner:“It’s going to be amazing for everyone involved at the club.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game because Crewe are a really good passing team and have been for years and years.

"But we took a lot of confidence from Friday’s performance and we’ll take that into the match. It’s going to be a packed house, a great atmosphere and I’m confident we can do a good job on the night.

“You can only thrive in an atmosphere like that; playing in front of 29,000 Cov fans, which is better than most Championship and even some Premiership crowds.

"No League One clubs get that size of crowd, so we have to enjoy it and take it all in.

“There will be pressure because everyone wants to go to Wembley and have a big day out for the fans, and win the cup, but we have to relax and enjoy it, and make sure we seize the moment.”
