Board behind banner and balloon bans

Coventry City's Board were behind actions against City supporters at yesterday's game at Reading, Royals Stewards confirmed.

People on the Board are understood to have been unhappy that Campaign Group - 'Save Our City' ran four coaches to the game for a "Back The Boys" day.

As a result, SISU's offices in Hannover Square in London, were put on high alert in case the coaches took a diversion en route to the Madejski Stadium, riot police understood to be on standby just in case anyone appeared.

This was followed up by giving orders to the Safety Officer at Reading which was then passed down to the stewards and confirmed by them, that City supporters were to be prevented from bringing in any banners or balloons with "SISU OUT" on them and if any banners or balloons made it into the ground, those responsible were to be ejected.

It is understood that six City supporters were ejected for the heinous crime of possessing balloons and we saw one banner being removed in the 38th minute from the lower tier.
