City Old Boys In FA Cup Shock

FA Cup News

Former Coventry City youngsters Cameron Belford and Lee Hildreth played for Tamworth FC who pulled off one of the the biggest shocks of the FA Cup First Round.

A 20th minute goal from Nick Chadwick was enough to give Tamworth a 1-0 win over League Two Cheltenham Town.

Of the teams who also beat higher division opposition, Macclesfield Town from the Conference beat Swindon 4-0 and Hartlepool United beat Notts County, who now have former City youngster Greg Abbott as an assistant manager, 3-2.

A number of non-league sides live to fight another day - Grimsby drew 0-0 with Scunthorpe, Boreham Wood drew 0-0 with Carlisle, Braintree drew 1-1 with Newport County, Brackley Town drew 1-1 against Gillingham, Lincoln City drew 0-0 with Plymouth, Gateshead drew 2-2 at Oxford United and Wycombe drew 1-1 with Crewe.
