A Breach Of Human Rights says City fan
A Coventry City supporter is going to court on January 11th to try and over-turn a football banning order which he claims breaches his human rights.
Mark Wynn, was arrested during the game with Derby County at the Ricoh Arena last season and found guilty of using language likely to cause distress or intimidation by a City Magistrates Court.
He was banned from going to football matches for three years and cannot enter an “exclusion zone” around when City are playing, as well as being banned from Coventry city centre for eight hours on matchdays.
Mr Wynn, who had one ban amended as he lives within the original exclusion zone. told the Coventry Telegraph: “This prosecution has really affected my life and restricted my movement.
“I’ve been banned from the city centre from 12pm to 8pm on Saturdays and I can’t step into this exclusion zone near my house.
“I can walk down Windmill Road and stay on the one side of Foleshill Road, but if I go over the other side of the road I could be arrested.
“I feel like it’s breached my human rights to have a family life because I can’t take my kids out or anything.”
Mr Wynn has solicitors appointed by the Football Supporters Federation for his new trial on January 11th.Read More http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/2013/01/01/video-coventry-city-fan-at-centre-of-ricoh-arena-brawl-to-appeal-his-conviction-92746-32523339/#ixzz2GixS3e00
