Coventry City boss Iain Dowie was delighted with his side's efforts as they won 2-1 at Queens Park Rangers.
A last-minute Kevin Kyle header secured all three points for the Sky Blues, who are up to fifth place in the Championship table despite being under a transfer embargo at the present time.
Dowie commented: "To come here and get a win is very pleasing and says something about the spirit of the lads.
"They've got some big acquisitions for big money and some quality players and we knew we had to cope with that, but we've got players who aren't prepared to give up.
"If we'd have lost or drawn it would have been unjust and I'm pleased for Kevin Kyle who has had an unjustly unfair time with the fans.
"Let's not concern ourselves about the transfers. With this group of players we will be competitive in this league.
"I would love to be able to do a few deals, but until someone tells me I can, we'll just get on with it."
