City deny Dowie exit talk

Coventry City have moved to deny reports linking boss Iain Dowie with the vacant managerial hot-seat at Championship rivals Leicester City. Dowie has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Martin Allen, who was last week after less than three months at the Walkers Stadium. The former Oldham, Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic manager had been interviewed by Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric before opting to take over at Coventry back in February. However, after leading the club to the top of the Championship table this season, Sky Blues officials are adamant Dowie will not be leaving the Ricoh Arena. "Further to recent and unwelcome speculation regarding the club's first-team manager, Coventry City would like to confirm that it has received no approach from any club with regard to Iain Dowie," read a club statement. "The club would also like to confirm that any approach would be firmly rebuffed."
