City Boss Wants Intense Training Enviroment At Ryton
City boss on training next season
Coventry City Manager Steven Pressley has said that he wants to create an intense training enviroment at Ryton next season
“I want to create an environment here where we train really intensely,” said Pressley to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.
“Next season we will include a number of double sessions in a normal week without a midweek game and Ryton will be a training ground where there are standards and professionalism expected from all of our players.
“That’s the type of culture I want here because I want to create a winning culture at this club and we’ll have to make changes in order to do that.
“The players have been given a close-season programme to follow. They have been asked to rest for the first two weeks to recover and then gradually build up in the remaining seven weeks and then they’ll be tested when they get back on June 28.
“And then we’ll test them again before the start of the season. We have let them know what we expect from them and if they follow the programme we have put together then they’ll return in relatively good condition.
“In years gone by pre-season was seen as a way of getting beer off the gut but these days players return in very good condition.”
